Don Johnson was always a big advocate for the term "sudden victory." Therefore, it is only fitting that the League which bears his name keeps in line.
All elimination games in Club and Pooled Play-offs that end in a tie will be decided as follows:
A five minute three vs. three overtime period will be played with the first goal scored resulting in sudden victory. If the game is not decided in overtime, then a three player shoot out will take place to determine the winner. Any player that was penalized at the end of the game is not eligible to shoot. If the shootout is not decided after three shooters then the team must continue on a sudden victory basis. No player can shoot twice until all eligible players have taken a shot. If a team has two goaltenders dressed, then it is the coaches' prerogative which one they want to use for OT and shoot out. Same goalie can be used for both.
