Winner of the Sportscraft Playoff Team of the Week in the third week of the DJHL post season is the CBR U11A Renegades.  

Coming into the post season, the Renegades finished in 4^th place in the competitive U11A division with 22 points in 24 games, 7 points out of first. However, since coming out of Christmas break, the Renegades were victorious in 10 of their last 12 league games.

That late season push as continued into the play-offs. The Renegades opened their campaign with a sweep the Mount Pearl Blades by scores of 4-2 and 6-2 scores in the divisional quarter-finals to advance against the first place Northeast Eagles.  

The Eagles served the Renegades notice early that victory was not going to be easy, handing them a 7-6 defeat in Game 1 of the first to four points semi-final. The Renegades were up for the challenge and responded in convincing fashion. Relaying on their strong skating, effective back-check and fore-check, solid goaltending, and “scoring by committee,” the young Renegades rallied back with a 4-3 win in Game 2, and a 2-1 win in the clincher.

Honorable mention goes to the U13B Northeast Eagles who sweep their series in two straight games in Week 3 against the CBR Renegades to advance to the divisional final.  

The DJHL will be arranging a visit for the captaincy of the Renegades to visit Sportscraft to claim prizes for their teammates. Bravo to a team that continues to have fun with their solid team play!
