Gosse Scores Historic First Goal in Girls Action

Wednesday night was a special night for the DJHL as the League launched its first ever regular season games for our inaugural Scotiabank Pooled Girls U13 A Division.

After the BNS Falcons and BNS Ravens played to a scoreless draw (shutout performances by Gabrielle Tucker and Ava Gollop), the BNS Puffins and BNS Hawks took to the ice. The scoring drought from game one carried over to the second match until the second period. That's when forward Kaitlin Gosse of the Puffins scored the first ever goal in DJHL Girls Hockey by firing one past Hawks netminder Adia Pendergast. The tally also stood as the game winner on the night. Lindsay Rideout earned the shutout for the Puffins.

Sort of cool that new team name takes the spotlight. A win for Buddy the Puffin perhaps.
